Digital Infrastructure Learning and Training Intern

Salary: £24,000–£26,000 (12-month internship)

Class of Your Own (COYO) is an award-winning social business dedicated to inspiring the next generation of built environment professionals. Through our Design Engineer Construct! (DEC) Learning Programme, we equip young people (aged 11–18) with industry-relevant knowledge and digital skills, bridging the gap between education and industry.

We are offering an exciting 12-month internship to a highly capable and ambitious student as a degree industry placement year or an early-career professional interested in the intersection of education, digital technology and the built environment. This opportunity includes structured mentoring and real-world experience in designing and delivering high-impact training that introduces young people to the technologies shaping future infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the design, development and refinement of digital training modules aligned with the DEC Future Infrastructure curriculum.
  • Assist in the integration of cutting-edge technologies such as BIM, Digital Twins, GIS, AI and Reality Capture into engaging learning experiences.
  • Contribute to the delivery of teacher CPD and student workshops, both online and in-person.
  • Conduct research into emerging infrastructure innovations and help contextualise them for classroom delivery.
  • Co-create multimedia learning resources, including videos, slide decks, and interactive exercises.
  • Support digital platform management and ensure resources are accessible within common data environments (CDEs).
  • Reflect on your development and produce a final digital portfolio or case study of your contribution.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Current higher education student or graduate in Digital Engineering, Computer Science, Construction Technology, Geospatial Science, Civil Engineering or related fields.
  • Strong interest in digital transformation in the built environment, particularly infrastructure.
  • Confident and personable communicator, able to work independently and collaboratively across teams.
  • Demonstrable digital skills, preferably in Bentley Systems Infrastructure Engineering and Digital Twin solutions, or willingness to learn rapidly.
  • Committed to equity in education and inspired by the chance to support teachers’ knowledge and skills development to deliver young people’s professional aspirations.
  • Willing to take part in training and development opportunities which may include international travel. Full clean driving licence and valid passport/travel documents advantageous.
